I know of another spirit of 76 that needs restored its complete down to the seat.
This looks like my field at the top of the hill behind my house. Even the same combine. Great video!
This video is taking me for a ride in The Wayback Machine! to the time these huge Oliver's were brand new sitting at the County Fair, and my younger brother and I had to climb up on all these massive things and dream of which one we were going to own when we grew up. 😅
Really informative! I learned a few things from you…Thank you! Quick question, do the rib tires in front steer easier than your turf tires? I have a manual steering Cub and was thinking about switching from a front AG tire to a 3 rib or possibly 5 rib? I have 3 acres of hilly property to mow + 300 ft drive to plow
Glad the video helped. The 3 rib tires do steer the easiest. If you are using it ti cut grass tho when you turn they may cut the grass. The V61s 5 ribs are pretty universal, But may steer a tad bit harder. You could always add power steering. It is not cheap, but it does help a lot. Hope this helpes.
I own a 1984 782 d diesel cub cadet i great lawn mower i love it
They are great. They are the best idea that MTD had. Everyone followed them a few years later.
I had one just like this one.
I use a Woods 60" back blade behind the 2072. It does a fantastic job with whatever I'm working with. Top soil, back fill, limestone, snow, and anything else in it's way that might need moved. 😊
i didn't realize you have posted so many videos. you are a wealth of information. us ventrac and steiner guys need to stick together. excellent job joe.

Anyone know where I can find the belt diagram for the mower deck? Struggling to get mine together
i wonder if it really filters down to 5 micron ua-cam.com/video/J2TUgxTjHfc/v-deo.html
Great! Just the video I needed. I'm getting both Renegade and the Forester.
Thanks for the post. I'd love to have that Power King! Hey from South Carolina!
No block heat = oil like molasses
Niiice!! I like it.. I just got a Gannon Earthcavator cat 0 box blade last weekend. I've only been into the Cubs/Brinly for about 2yrs now and I've never seen a cat 0 box blade before. Its for a Sears, so I'm gonna have to weld on different tabs to allow me to use on my Cub. I can't wait to try it out. Thanks for the vid.
What is the torque difference in the 2 machines?
The diesel has 42 ft lb and the gas has 51 ft lb of torque. So 9 diffrent.
@@steiger256 thanks
For me, the diesel is the more dependable and easier to work on. I'm pretty sure the gas engine will need replacing about the time I get around to adjusting the valves on the diesel. I actually think gas engines are allergic to me. Damned if I can find a diesel weed eater though. Great video friend!
Rewatched again! Ventrac fan, driveway work lover, grading and spreading of gravel fanatic! This is the best video with content!
Love that little tractor. I wish I had some flat land, but I also love living in the mountains!? What a problem I am blessed and cursed with - LOL. I recently go a cabbed tractor that is orders of magnitude better than the other tractors I've had. The box blade is my weapon of choice. That's aewsome! I love gardon tractors, I'm glad I found your channel.
Is the 482 a diesel
Nope. Briggs 11hp single cylinder. Same engine used on the 1100.
@@steiger256for some reason mine says to use diesel under the seat
@@hacksawsnipr_9502 may have had tje seat pan replaced with a 782D. Not sure why it would saybthat.
I also can’t get mine to run will run if you dump gas down the carb but my carb just doesn’t get gas down to the engine I also had it rebuilt
@@hacksawsnipr_9502 huh. Either a plugged jet in the carb, Or maybe a stuck valve not letting fuel in.
Great little video showing off tge blade! Really wish the Cat 0 stuff was more common up here in Canada, was lucky when I was given my plow and cultivator and now I want the rest of the cat 0 stuff.
I agree. It is sad nobody really makes any of it anymore. It all works really well.
Wonder if we can get the 8 wheels on them.
Keep it intact it is a solid running tractor 💪
I know I’m making a comment on an old video but nice work and very detailed video! You aren’t in Michigan are you?! Would be happy to pay you to do some of this to mine LOL!
Sorry I am in Ohio. I cant even imagin how much time I had in them clearance lights, But it turned out nice. It was a fun project, But I dont think I would want to do it again for a while. Lol
I like to crank it longer at first to build up some oil pressure. Other than that, I do it the same 👍
I have that same disk that I pull behind my E-15 Hinomoto. Added a tractor wheel weight and it does a fantastic job!
Gas is usually got more power!
Nice to see the 1772 in action! I just used that same disk behind my 782 last week to get the garden ready. I would really like to get a 1572/1772 here at some point, I love my 2072 but hate getting it dirty, and I like having diesel power (and power steering) for the chores and for plow days.
It is hard to beat the super diesels. I am working on getting a John Deere 430 next. I would love to have one of each to play around with.
Like to see Ventrac and roto tiller
I have been trying to get a rototiller to try. I will try to get one this fall.
Who made the Diesel for Cub?
Kubota. D640
I really like that Cub. Those Vreidestein tires are the best looking tire for a garden tractor. You definitely need a lot of weight. Try to find a way to put about 50% more on the left side, unless you just want to sit on the edge of the seat when in the furrow. Does that tractor have a lower range? It looks a little fast to me. With the right power and weight, you should be able to go 6" deep with a 12" plow. It sounds like you have plenty of power to spare.
I grew up on a 1948 8N. We had a double 16" Dearborn moldboard and a pull disc with a pike tooth drag and a wood float. Dad always wanted 2 gardens on our 5 or 6 acres. One near the house for Strawberries, Tomatoes, Green Peppers, Cucumbers, Beans and Golden Bantam heirloom corn.. The other was strictly corn. We had heavy clay. If you plowed it too early, you had cement clumps when it dried. If you waited too long it was hard to plow, but easy to disc. When you hit it just right, everything worked perfectly. After Dad died, I bought a cheap chain drive 5' rototiller and on semi loose dirt the 8N does it perfect. But it's a little hard to get it going from sod as 1st gear is just a little too fast speed. So I still plow sod and disc it one pass befor rototilling. I also have a 1973 IH Cub Cadet 12hp Hydrostatic drive I bought used and it can handle a 42" rototiller very well. Hydrostatic makes all the difference because you can just creep it along. I'm no horticulturist, just have experience: If you don't go deep enough, say 9 or 10 inches some crops won't do that well. When I did neighbor gardens as a kid, if they had small tractors, they only got about 4 or 5 inches deep. When I got done they had 1 foot deep tilled soil and they never saw plants grow so big. I like my rototillers (both) but there is nothing that compares to plowing a field when the plow rolls the dirt right upside down and my Dearborn plow had a little wings on the ends of the moldboard that scrubbed the dirt just a little to knock the shine off the plowed dirt. ben/ michigan
A good rototiller works very well. It does do a great job of pulverizing. The plow and disk are just fun and they make it seem like field work.
You might need a cement block or two.
I have a set of weights I used on it when it was on my Steiner. The Cubs do not have a float option so I have just been using down pressure instead.
If I have the option between a 1200 or a 1250 which should I choose? I just need it for mowing a small area. Nothing major. Both seem to have been maintained well. Just wanted to know which is better for mowing.
You would be happier with the 1250 for mowing. If you dont have to go forward and backwards a lot the gear drive are okay, But it is hard to beat a hydro. I will say the gear drives also have more parts to maintain and fix like cluth, clutch plates, throwout bearing ect.
Lawn is looking tight in the background. I enjoy stripes for whatever reason.
Wow on that quad track...
He did a great job. It was impressive watching it drive around.
Does anyone see that tracked articulator in the rear...
I have an ltx 1045. Changed, solenoid, battery, and starter. Still just get a weird buzzing/clicking under seat when I try to start it. No crank. Any ideas?
Hi .do you need to do any drilling when you put the counter rotation kit on ?
Nope. Everything just bolts right on.
@@steiger256 ok that’s cool. Most of the time it’s good just like if going into the thick stuff as you know. But it’s well worth it is it
10.8 mph! that's screaming for the time. I have a new Kubota Z781 EFI ZT mower with a 30hp Kawi V-twin and it does 11mph which is way to fast for me for cutting grass. I imagine that Cub is a handful at 10+ I would like to see it though.
I got one just like it for sale let me know if you want to know more about it!
Just think if they were new and how much money this place would be worth
Makes you wonder why folks didn’t fix them instead of junking them ???😢
Yeah, I wonder how much of this stuff could stayed out of here with just a few cheap repairs!! We'll never know!
I think with shop rates and parts so high many people just buy new.
I've got to Google this place to see how close it is. Thanks for the current video!
Do they ship parts ??? Like out of state to Texas ??
Yes they do ship. You can call or get on the website.
Would like to see the shop area and how it’s set up Would love to be there and work there 😊😊😊 It’s a gold mine ❤
It is a great place. I have watched it grow for the last 4 years, And Adam is a great guy to deal with. The workers are all great people also.
That place is unreal. I am envious of anyone living close enough to go there often but being far is probably saving my marriage lol
